Dear SU Football Alumnae-

The Syracuse Football Club, which was established in 1991 and has gone through many iterations since its founding, was formed with the purpose of providing a platform for former players to maintain social connections and give back to the football program. Throughout the years, it has also evolved into a means of raising funds to support various needs within our Syracuse Football program, including providing donations to the head coach fund and helping Syracuse Football alumnae. Your membership dues support the club’s operational needs. Your donations support club activities and initiatives.

As the newly appointed president of the Syracuse Football Club, I am incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to address my fellow Syracuse Orange and Blue brothers! Ever since I relocated to New York in 2019, I have faced my fair share of challenges, including high New York taxes, adjusting to new relationships, supporting my children as they joined new teams, and making friends in a small village in Westchester. However, amidst these challenges, there have been undeniable advantages to my new location, including being closer to SU.

I write to share our primary objectives for 2024, identify our 2024 leadership team, and to encourage all of you to renew your Syracuse Football Club membership. I also want to express my gratitude to former President Warren Harvey, Vice President Keenan Hale, Treasurer Rich Rosen, and our current and incoming board members. Their dedication and hard work have laid a strong foundation for our club’s success.

Moving forward, our primary objectives are as follows:

  1. Foster growth within our club by ensuring that everyone feels welcomed and by encouraging increased membership and participation.
  2. Review and, if necessary, refine our mission and vision statement.
  3. Develop realistic and attainable goals and objectives.
  4. Establish effective lines of communication with the new coach, university, and all alumnae members, both old and new.
  5. Create regional communication teams that will facilitate the achievement of our goals and objectives.
  6. Support new initiatives, including the “Your Number’s Been Called” initiative that will be rolled out in 2024.

To achieve these objectives, we will require the active engagement and involvement of each and every member. It is through our collective efforts that we can revitalize our club and successfully accomplish our shared goals.

I am thrilled to embark on this journey as the President of the Syracuse Football Club and look forward to working alongside our new team of leaders: Jake Flaherty 08’, Vice President; Eric Anthony 17’, Treasurer; Warren Harvey 80’, Communications Director; and Keenan Hale 15’ Information Officer. Together, we will pave the way for a bright future for our beloved football club and community.

Now is a great time for every one of you to go to our SFC site and either sign up or renew your memberships. Please follow the link and go to the club memberships. https://syracusefootballclub.com/product/annual-membership/

Thank you all for your continued support and dedication. Let us unite and make our mark as a force to be reckoned with. Go Orange and Blue!

Sincerely,
Turnell Sims 90’
Syracuse Football Club President
